Shift Service Engineer

Eaze IT Japan Co., Ltd. is building an offshore IT operations team in Bangladesh to support a Japanese enterprise IT enablement services client.

The Shift Engineer will be responsible for frontline monitoring, basic incident handling, and operational support, working under the guidance of Shift Service Lead Engineers and Technical Lead Engineers in a 24/7 shift-based environment.

Education: Bachelor/Honors

Responsibilities

  • Monitor systems, applications, and infrastructure during assigned shifts.
  • Respond to alerts and incidents following defined runbooks and SOPs.
  • Perform initial investigation of system and application issues using logs and monitoring tools.
  • Execute basic operational and recovery tasks as per instructions and runbooks.
  • Create, update, and manage incident and service request tickets using Jira or ITSM tools.
  • Escalate unresolved or critical issues to Shift Service Lead or Technical Lead Engineers in a timely manner.
  • Support incident resolution by collecting logs, screenshots, and relevant data.
  • Participate in shift handover and operational reporting.
  • Follow operational processes to ensure SLA compliance.
  • Assist in scheduled maintenance and routine operational activities.
  • Maintain discipline in documentation and knowledge sharing.
  • Continuously learn operational tools, systems, and processes.

Education

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science / Information Technology

Skills/Experience

  • Minimum 1 years of experience in IT Operations / Support / NOC / L1 Support.
  • Experience in shift-based or 24/7 operations is highly preferred.
  • Intermediate English communication is mandatory.

Additional Requirement

Technical Skills

  • Basic understanding of Linux/Unix environments.
  • Willingness to learn log investigation and incident handling.
  • Basic knowledge or learning mindset for Jira / monitoring tools (Grafana).
  • Understanding of runbook-based operations.
  • Basic knowledge of networking concepts.
  • Basic scripting knowledge is a plus.
  • CSE/IT background preferred.
